Jef Aerts is an emerging audiovisual artist working under the moniker Ruisbestuiver. His practice explores the dynamic interplay between image and sound, investigating how these elements can influence one another in abstract, atmospheric ways to evoke emotional and sensory responses. Central to his approach is the live setting: by allowing visuals and audio to constantly react to each other in real time, every performance becomes uniquely shaped by the moment.

Driven by a desire to push this dialogue between image and sound further, Jef is developing a new body of work that blurs the boundaries between performance, installation and generative art. His ambition is to create autonomous audiovisual systems that can function without direct input, or alternatively, respond interactively to the presence and actions of the audience — allowing visitors to actively reshape the experience.

With this evolving project, Jef aims to build immersive environments where sound and image merge into shifting, living textures, inviting viewers into a space of intuition, abstraction and sensory discovery.
